MolecularFarming.com have been saying it on our safety page
www.molecularfarming.com/safety.html for almost 2 years. The UK's DEFRA
sponsored trials have now proven us right. Oil seed rape [Canola] is too
dangerous to ever be used as an open-field Molecular Crop. |

no, it merely says that in England, GM OSR and the weed killer regime that
is used with it provides a poorer habitat for wildlife than conventional
OSR.

Yep. Sadly this has been missed by a lot of the reporters covering
this. :)

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to
think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone´s fault.
If it was Us, what did that make Me ? After all, I´m one of Us. I must be.
I´ve certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No-one ever thinks
of themselves as one of Them. We´re always one of Us. It´s Them that do
the bad things. <=> Terry Pratchett. Jingo. |

a lot of them are just repeating regurgitated press releases, the number
who actually know anything about agriculture is minimal

Actually it says that *on average* RR rape had a slighly poorer wildlife
structure than average conventional. It was better than some
conventional ones, and judging from my wife's comments when films of the
trial were shown, pretty dismal crops they all were. Now coming from us,
that is an indictment since we specialise in keeping crops (we have
never ploughed any in) and it has to be *really* awful to make her
comment on the poorness.
I suspect almost all commercial crops would have close to a 100%
monoculture in the UK. Occasional vivid failures excepted.

They weren't testing RR rape. They were testing Bayer glufosinate
("Liberty") tolerant rape.
