Yes, John Drake was 'Danger Man', not 'The Prisoner'.

No. 6 never revealed his name. It might have been John Drake.

Patrick McGoohan, it is rumored, always claimed that No 6 wasn't Drake
because otherwise he'd have legal problems. He didn't own the Drake
character.

Christopher once again shows that his world is Black and White.

As you note, #6 never revealed his name, but it was clear he was some sort
of secret agent or otherwise had access to top-level classified information.
He preferred when possible to use his brains over his brawn.

Lots of similiarities. And of course some differences.

And of course the other point which you clipped which Christopher commented
on was his "escape."

Did he really escape at the end? Maybe. Maybe not. Taken at face value,
the end itself doesn't make much sense.

Anyway, who knows.

Be seeing you.

No, John Drake visited the village only once. Your thinking of No 6,
and if you are old enough you'll know he escaped for good in the very
last episode. :-p

Ah but did he really?

Yes, if you were quick you'd see the guy in the monkey outfit was No
6, and if your really quick you'd have seen that the number of No 6's
house in london was No 1 meaning he's one's self, an individual who is
not a number... ie it was just as the dwarf butler went into the house
before No 6/1 drove off in his Lotus Super 7, for the high speed blast
the program used to start with.

And is he really different than Drake?

Yes, John Drake was 'Danger Man', not 'The Prisoner'.

Actually Drake was 'Secred Agent.' At least that's how it was known
in the US.

"There's a man who leads a life of danger..."

Not to be confused with the horrible UPN series Secret Agent of a few
years ago that recycled and modernized the theme song while scuttling
just about every else from the original.
