Hello
In a reserach project, I want to pump fog from a fog machine into a
large box, then diffuse the fog as fast as possible. I hope there
exist certain simple (non-toxic) chemical that can eliminate the fog
very fast. My fog fluid is water based. How can I do that?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Regards,
Zhen

How 'bout a charged metal plate to attract the droplets?
You just might have something there - the Sharper Image has a gizmo
called the Ionic Breeze that, in the TV ad at least, seems to be able to
diffuse smoke quite quickly and easily.

Nope, "Toxic" is exactly the right description for CO2 gas.
Note especially:
"Carbon Dioxide is a powerful cerebral dilator. At concentrations
between 2 and 10%, Carbon Dioxide can cause nausea, dizziness, headache,
mental confusion, increased blood pressure and respiratory rate. Above
8% nausea and vomiting appear. Above 10%, suffocation and death can
occur within minutes."
CO2 defeats the natural pH balance (buffering) of blood causing it to become
dangerously acidic (respiratory acidosis).

I'm still a bit suspicious and if the original poster went with this idea,
it would confirm my doubts.
He wanted to find a solution for removing toxic substances from the air and
his device was to demo this.
"Now that you've seen the demo, all we need is 50 mil seed money to build a
really big plate..." |
