Conjugate gradient for overconstrained systems...

Hi,

CG seems to work for Ax=b whenever b is in the range of A
(experimentally).
(A symmetric, semidefinite).

I think I saw a paper once that proved this, does anyone know of a
reason or reference why this would be the case?
