Anthony J. Walton
Mr. Walton is a partner at McFarland Dewey & Company, LLC, a private
investment banking firm. Previously, he was President of Armstrong
Holdings Corp., a private investment company and corporate finance
advisory firm, in this capacity, he was a co-founder of Effinity
Financial Corp., a successful Internet Bank for affinity groups and EC
Trade Services. In 1998, he was recruited as CEO of Caspian Securities
Group and in 1994 and 1995, he served as CEO of the Llama Company, a
private regional investment bank owned by members of the Wal-Mart
Walton family.
From 1983 to 1993, Mr. Walton served as Chief General Manager,
Americas and Europe, of Westpac Banking Corporation, then Australia's
largest banking group. In 1991, he was appointed to the Board of
Directors of Westpac. Mr. Walton joined the Chase Manhattan Bank in
New York in 1966 and undertook a series of London and New York-based
assignments. A highlight of Mr. Walton's 16-year Chase career included
forming Libra Bank Ltd., an eight-member consortium bank for Latin
America.
In New York as Senior Vice President and CEO of the Global Trade
Finance Group, he established Chase as the premier trade bank
worldwide with over 300 staff and offices in 33 countries. Mr. Walton
was born in London, England and received his B.A. from Haverford
College and his M.B.A. in International Finance from the Wharton
Graduate School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a director of a number of private companies; a Member of the
Council on Foreign Relations; a Director of the American Australian
Association; and a former Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of
the Institute of International Bankers.
