Hello everybody,
I am evaluating the opportunity of beginning a preventive therapy for
breast cancer, based on FENRETINIDE (4-hydroxy(phenyl)retinamide),
which, as I have been told, is a sort of synthetic version of Vitamin
A.
This medicine, which is still being tested for the purpose of cancer
prevention on healthy subject, appears to have teratogenic effects if
assumed during pregnancy.
I am trying to understand whether the risk of teratogenic effects on
the fetus persists even after interrupting the treatment (which should
last 2 years) and, if so, how long.
I would appreciate medical opinions as well as opinions of women who
underwent this or similar treatments.
Thank you very much
