wiping the slate clean...

After careful consideration and discussion with my husband and Lou
(Feeders), we have all decided to wipe the slate clean regarding a certain
member in this group. No more criticisms from any of us unless he himself
decides to provoke us in some way. The amount of time and effort expended
in anger and frustration simply isn't worth it and we will accept him as he
is for what he is and I say truthfully whatever that will be. On the whole,
he seems ok, maybe a bit outspoken at times I guess but in retrospect aren't
we all. My husband did end up with a much better job anyway, so perhaps our
anger was unjustified. Therefore Ed, Lou, and I agree to disagree in
certain ways regarding this member and we'll leave it at that.

I bid you all good day.

No one cares.
Get back on topic, and all will be forgotten.

Hi Lou! Good to see you on here! Thanks for backing me up as I know it[/quote]
wasn't easy being such good friends with Ed and all. I just felt that
nothing was being accomplished and we were wasting our time, that's all.
You remember when we used to own the horses and the one horse wouldn't train
no matter what we did or tried and you do remember what we finally did with
that horse? Anyway, I'm the amateur astronomer in the house as you know and
Ed doesn't have much to do with it. We had to sell the scope when Ed lost
his job, but now we're looking around for another. If you get a chance Lou
fill me in on what's current. TTYL

Hi Nancy. You're welcome. It will take everything in my power to keep from
saying anything further, but it will be done. I only backed off at your
request, but bygones will be bygones. In a sense, I'm glad you're deciding
to move on.

Now, to answer your question, I would try Orion:

http://www.telescope.com/control/main/

Prices aren't too bad. They carry their own brands and Celestron too. When
I bought my first Mak from them a few years back, I was expecting the worst.
Made in China, poor quality control, etc. However, I was pleasantly
surprised and the quality is quite good. You've seen the Dob I have. It
too is Orion and is a stellar performer, but there is a catch.... I ended
up replacing the mirror with a Royce. However, if I were to do it again, I
wouldn't have done it as the performance isn't that much better overall.
Give me a call or drop a line here if you have any more questions. Also
have Ed give me a call later as I want to talk to him about Sat. lou

Don't worry about it, Lou. A sore thumb always heals in time. Originally,
I think I was the most upset between Ed and I. Ed really didn't care one
way or the other.

I'll take a look at Orion. Heard of them, but never realized how much
they've grown. The last I recall, they had a couple of scopes, a few
eyepieces and that was about it, but that was a good many years ago. I yawn
because it's getting close to bedtime. Did you get Ed's message?

More like a sore thumb on top of a sore thumb. At least to me anyway. Oh
well.

No, did he leave it on the machine or was it a cell message? I'm going to
call him later anyway. My only gripe with Orion is the fact that most of
their stuff is Chinese made, but other than that they seem pretty good to
deal with. My first Mak was returned three times until they sent one with
good optics, so I can't complain. And they paid the shipping. Of course,
that was some time ago and my understanding is that Chinese qa has improved
in part because we've sent our people there to train them. Not sure about
that, but I did order a pair of the Chinese 25x100 binocs last year and they
were dead on in alignment, a stark improvement over my past experiences.

But he's right.
You two really should take this to email.

Pass the bucket! Rurp! It's like listening to one of those loud, one-
sided, mobile phone conversations between a fat mummy's boy and his
Feeder at the supermarket checkout. Rurp!
