A thought. It's spirit, right? I mean, you can't touch it or take hold of
it, except in a spritual way, right?

O.K.

What is spirit? Does it exist?

Are you a spirit?

If I looked at you in your eyes I bet I would see your very soul.

That, too, is spirit, right?

I have a distinction between soul and spirit. The soul is the very
soul of a person, whereas the spirit can be superficial at times. The
spirit of a baseball game, "The Giants win the pennant!" is just
spirit, its not the person's soul. If you walk through your old high
school or a baseball stadium at night you can feel the "spirit".
There are different spiritual levels and the spirit can be complex.
Some spiritual stuff is just superficial, like Hollywood movies. Some
is so strong that you might not even sense it, like Christ's
Crucifixion. I think He in some sense, poured out his very soul for
the salvation of souls. Mood can be mistaken for spirit too. Like if
someone's in a bad mood you might think they're generating negative
spirit, but its really just their mood. Some people have talked of
energies, and things like feng shui (Fung Shway) that can affect
spirit and mood. There is a lot of superficial spiritual stuff out
there that has little if any meaning and serious spiritual stuff, like
Catholic martyrdom, that is often gone unrecognized. I believe the
aborted babies have spirits (good ones of course) and it is tragic
that some people choose not to recognize this.

Trying to lable higher dimensions with three dimensional references,
is impossible.

An example being your last question, regarding 'your soul'. Who is the
you refering to in your?

Who or what is it that has a soul.

In all arenas, the same words have different meanings. 'Soul' music,
10% spirit re aclchoholic drinks, the spirit of the place as C3PO
mentioned.

When I was going deeper in detail a couple of decades ago,, I heard
the interpretation of 'soul' being the authentic self, around which,
there are different bodies providing 'soul' with the necessary
experience for developing consciousness(soul becoming more awake).
Interesting the attention from the scientific fraternity on parallel
universes these days...

From the same source, spirit is defined as the equivalent of energy or
'support system' at the most subtle level.A useful analogy ; the fish
being sole...coudnt resist Smile, and the ocean being 'spirit'.

**I looked at wholism when trying to put together what spirit was.
I believe the soul is what we perceive the world by, and what we feel with.
That is why we must never sell our soul. Whatever it feels, we also feel.

The spirit would be the life force at our perimeter, that is the contact
area
for other spirits.

And I don't think Jesus ever lost his soul. He just gave his fleshly
components.

He later sent his spirit, which is still with us today.

And good analogy about the spirit at a stadium.

You have a unique perspective on spirit.

At least you are being honest.

All as I can say, is my response was similar to yours many years ago.

Similar to first seeing music, learning to read it, and seeing that not
making sense of it was a matter of non exploration. Of course there
are endless examples, braille etc..

The weird thing about the consciousness situation, is the words Im
using are straightforward, normal words (Have you ever been involved
in litigation where legaleaze with a smattering of latin is thrown at
you !!!).

Perhaps another analogy would be 'soul' is equivalent to the
physiology, and spirit being the emanations from the sun, where the
energy from the sun provides also the food necessary for the body to
survive, but is not who you are.

Analogies are useful because of parallel realities.

Apply that to your physical body. If you refer to 'my body' you are
inferring and owner, and those who believe there is nothing more, need
to apply such beliefs in their conversation.Very difficult, and awkward
to attempt, because it counter intuitive. Counter intuative beause the
tuition from within (intuition) knows better.

The 'material' of the material world is proven to be energy. The gap
between references of spiritual to material is diminishing.

If you look at a Kirlian photograph, you see different colour energies
being radiated from the body(or is it the other way around/). That is
a reasonable comparison. "You" get angry, and your aura changes color.

The 'material' of the material world is proven to be energy. The gap
between references of spiritual to material is diminishing.

=Certainly seems so. There is also the idea of 'emergent properties'. This
is a feature of something which is beyond the sum of its parts. When a
certain level of complexity is acheived then some new property can emerge,
perhaps on a completely different level or type to what it emerges from.
Consciousness exists, as we all experience, and may be such an emergent
property from the underlying complexity of the brain/body, but goes beyond
the material, as it certainly seems. The body itself partakes of various
emergent properties itself. It is alive, which is a property that arises
from matter of a certain complexity of structure. And bodies of the macro
variety seem to be emergent properties of the underlying quantum structure
of the universe, which is random and 'weird', for us big things at least.
And even the quantum world is, as you say, could well be an emergent
property of energy, in a sense. Who knows how far this heirachy of emergent
porperties goes 'down' or 'up' in the scale of things. Surely
culture/language is an emergent property of human-beings interacting.
Civilisation emergent from that, science, etc.- Hide quoted text -

The 'material' of the material world is proven to be energy. The gap
between references of spiritual to material is diminishing.

=Certainly seems so. There is also the idea of 'emergent properties'. This
is a feature of something which is beyond the sum of its parts. When a
certain level of complexity is acheived then some new property can emerge,
perhaps on a completely different level or type to what it emerges from..
Who knows how far this heirachy of
emergent
porperties goes 'down' or 'up' in the scale of things. Surely
culture/language is an emergent property of human-beings interacting.
Civilisation emergent from that, science, etc.- Hide quoted text -

Bear in mind that the "sum of its parts" excludes the emergent
possibilities of the "multiple of its parts" or the "calculus of its
parts" that also describe  the interactions of parts of complex
systems.
