What would "validating his math" involve? The current mathematical model
of the Universe says it won't work. You can construct models in which it
would work, but the only way to show that those models are likely to be
a correct description of the Universe (and the current one therefore
wrong) would be to build the device and show that it works.
Perhaps the Chinese scientists don't understand science.

Modest being something you can convincingly meausure, or something so
far down into the noise that you have to look sideways and squint before
you can see anything there at all?
My guess would have to be the latter, if the previous 'thrusters'
actually existed. Or perhaps they didn't do the measurements in a
vacuum, and measured an air-moving phenomenon.

I've heard more about 'cold fusion.' There may be something there,
though not 'nuclear fusion.' I believe there's some further work. The
original guys said 'cold fusion' was an unfortunate label.
