If it's a fake, what is it a fake of?

Pic taken at the Balladonia Roadhouse, 16 October.

Certainly looks fake. The font looks all wrong, charring looks wrong and
the antenna looks so fake it's not funny.

The "Danger Airlock" lettering on what looks like a piece of the outer skin
of the workshop module gives it away as a fake (the hatch was actually a
Gemini door and it's not on the workshop module). Plus all those shiny
vents are completely out of place. Fail!

I'm also trying to figure out where exactly on Slylab there were "United
States" markings.
If it's anything real, it looks like part of the Apollo Telescope Mount.

I wwould dismiss ontwo counts, 1. with all that white paint no real
charring except for an edge which looks all to uniform 2. DANGER
AIRLOCK, on the piece, what are the chances of that nifty printing
showing up?????????....................doc

....That's not part of Skylab, that's for sure. But what it *is* is a
very good question. It looks familiar, but I can't place it. Were
there any "real space" movies made in Oz that this thing might have
come from, say a full-sized prop?

Skylab had a small science airlock mounted on the side as well as the
crew one with the Gemini hatch down at the docking end.
But that didn't look like this either.
What I'd like to know is where the people who put this together got the
wild-looking corrugated metal panels for it.

Any warning labels around said airlock would have goon poof with the
micrometeorite shield they would have been painted on.

I found another photo of this piece of "debris" BTW:

Manufacturing Skylab debris seems to be a Australian pastime:

Having established that that piece is a bad fake, it's important to balance the ledger with a photo of real pieces from
the same museum at Balladonia:

Why display it upside down? Perhaps if they did right side up it would
be even easier to spot it as a fake.

It isn't as bad as Ed Conrad's human skull fossil rocks, but it's a
fake nonetheless.

I figure it's actually Ed's outhouse door.
