THE BOWEL NOSODES
BY John Paterson M. B., Ch. B., D. P. H. (Camb.), F. F. Hom.
Presented by Médi-T.
INTRODUCTION
In 1936 I presented a paper to the British Homœopathic Society, which
was published in their Journal of April 1936, under the title of "The
potentized Drug and Its Action on the Bowel Flora" and it dealt with
the clinical and bacteriological observations on 12,000 cases. A brief
summary of the findings is as follows :

Homeopathy/cell salts are bunk. In the 19th century
it didn't matter much given the dangers of more
conventional medicine of the era. But now the conventional
medicine are more effective though highly imperfect.
Naturopathy could be so much more
than it is. My view of alternative care came by way a DO whose
used some elements of naturopathy in that he was willing to
use drugs, amino acids, nutrients, vitamin D, and certain hormones
in different ways than conventional medicine.
We differ on what good care involves. It is as if I am
on a different corner of a triangle. Mark is a different
corner and you are on the remaining one. I am about
what works and what doesn't. Sometimes I am just
thinking out loud and at other times I playing and
trying on ideas. I hope I am about process not
foregone conclusions.
Take for example the vaccine controversy, there
those who doubt all vaccines and those who support
all vaccines. It seems to me these are roles perhaps
even needed roles. But it also seems to me, that
the ideal/ the reality of what approaches optimal
is going to be something a bit different than each
of these camps would claim.
Would I use an herbal remedy? Sure in that I have.
And they've worked or helped.
Would I go to MD to get an antibiotic? I have
done that. Would I go to the county health
department office and get the hep A and B shot
series? I've done that. Have I taken the
recent flu shots? No. And I figure my innate
immune system is better shape the major
here or in the general population and that
I am much less prone to range of ailments
include than the influenza. Do I take nutriceuticals
and vitamins on a daily basis with good and
profound effects, I certainly do. Do these
displace conventional drugs certainly while being
MORE effective than conventional drugs, certainly.
So instead of having adverse effects from conventional
med, I get additional beneficial effects :-)
I see cell salts as a useless distraction and as
something that needs to be dropped from
alternative medicine. I get that it is an article
of faith and that is the problem. In the vaccine
controversy, I suspect neither camp here has quite
got it right. While clearly I am closer to Mark and his
crew on the vaccine issue, I allow room for some
doubt and certainly room of other means of keeping
the immune system healthy and strong besides
vaccines. Nor do I see vaccines as without some
risks. And in theory some truly bad risks at that.
There is far far too little research in preventative
health and much of what has been been
clearly flawed like the defunct SELECT study.
There were complaints about that study even before
it was started and one associated researcher
even admitted to some of its having failings after
it was shut down.
Do I shift opinions at times? Yes. Do my views neatly fit in
either camp? No.
Is that wishy washy enough for you?
I certainly hope so.........................................Trig- Hide quoted text -

I only meant pautrey2 was posting in
a style similar to that of Peter B the
seconds.
At times I have taken a close look
at posting try to determine a bit
more about the source. But I rarely
do it and frankly I have little interest
beyond the face value of authors pen name
and its google history.
I am often surprised at the number
of hits my Google profile gets which
I alter now and then for its audience.

You are not framing the issue correctly. It is a question of those of
us who support science and the science supporting safety and efficacy
of vaccinations, versus those who deny science and substitute fear,
fables and foolishness.
There is this thread which is the perfect example. It is the one where
Scumamore posts an article about questions. The very first question,
the one about doulber blind studies, has been blown out by Jeff and my
postings. However, that has not changed anything.
The fact is, it is a war between science and ignorance. |
