It is interesting that they make no reference to nicotine (as an
antioxidant, metal chelator or playing a role in the downregulation of
microglia) as a potential treatment of AD (remember there is an
inverse relationship between smoking and the incidence of AD and
Parkinson's disease) although they do discuss Lithium as a GSK-3alpha
inhibitor.

They do go on. Bottom line seems to be:
"So, as part of our new brain-maintenance formulation, we provide 2 to 3
grams of choline per day in the form of a tasty drink mix."
Thought they might. Go to the Home page and you'll find it there: 180 pills
for a hundred bucks.
The late Dr. Roy Walford had some comments about Pearson/Shaw in his book,
"Beyond the 120-Day Diet." Without endorsing his comments, either, someone
might want to read them before getting too serious about Pearson/Shaw.

Another major figure in free radical research, Harry Demopoulus, is
in a couple of the Clint Eastwood movies. Harry and his coworkers
did much of the original work on the role of radicals in stroke and
spinal cord injury... See:

No talent. However, I do want to direct<G>
Roughly three decades after Harry B Demopoulos and his
coworkers showed a likely role for free radicals in stroke, an
antistroke drug that scarfs up such radicals is nearing FDA-approval.
See www.nitrone.com .
In addition to his acting and research careers, Dr
Demopoulus also played a key role in the founding of the Doris Duke
foundation. He was her original executor before "the Butler did it"
and is now a trustee.

I always thought that Dr. Walford was a bit harsh in his criticism of
Pearson and Shaw, but there a lot of truth in it--They often seem to lock in
on the evidence supporting their point of view while ignoring or minimizing
the evidence that doesn't.

Don't we all, especially when income or social standing is at
stake.
Dr. Walford was a great pioneer of CR, but as a life extensionist he
didn't seem to get it. Compare his results and methodology with that
of a much better modern day scientist, Vic Tanney. And note that the
full extent of Vic's contribution is still unknown.

Durk Pearson (story) &
Sandy Shakiocus (story) (as Sandy Shaw)
You are aware that Durk is a physicist and he and Sandy worked on the
special effects for Clint's "Firefox" before this, right? And that it
was their promotion of life extension and frequent appearances on the
Merv Griffin Show years ago that brought them in contact with Eastwood
(for whom they crafted various skin remedies) which led to the above.
Durk is no dummy and neither is Sandy,
If anyone has specific criticisms of their work, I'm sure both of them
would be more than happy to discuss it professionally.

Well, at one time they were spending $20,000 a year on scientific
journals, IIRC. While such journal subscriptions are expensive, I'd
say this indicates a legitimate interest in the work - and a
willingness to review all the research.
