Darwin123 brought up a good point about the catabolic anabolic split.
I suggested that a change in one side would bring pressure on the
other to match it.
I suggested that this was a motor of evolution.
I suggest that this second follow up 'mutation' from within the
organism, would be less dangerous
than the first which was caused by some mutation forced by the
environment.
Darwin123 suggested that this may not always be true. There may be
cases when
evolution on one side would not affect the other.
and that a change on one side does not necessarily demand
a change on the other to function well.
That would support the idea that some species may well evolve
stronger catabolic sides, or stronger anabolic sides without affecting
the other side.
Here, I would ask that others read my first post that listed such
divisions.
Male/female, plants/animals, etc. In each case one side would stress
catabolic, while the other would stress the anabolic side.
We have two things then in catabolic / anabolic split.
1. The motor for change - one side brings pressure on the other to
catch up.
2. No or little pressure - one side evolves separately and leads the
species to be more catabolic overall (or vice versa).
