This is an ugly question but it has to be asked.
Is Bill Maher an AIDS denialist? If so, in his scientific world
view, he joins such enlightened personages as Thabo Mbeki, who has been
respnsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands thousands of his
countrymen. If Maher is a denialist, the award due to be conferred on
him assumes even more grotesque proportions, like PETA giving a
posthumous award to Hitler, a well-known lover of dogs.
" As ye sow...." The excellent article on denialism in Wikipedia
points out that the magazine "Continuum, " whose editorial policy
consistently denied that HIV exists, closed down after all the editors
dies of AIDS. |
