I am doing a little statistical study to find out whether there are any
astrological factors correlated to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Two
months ago I put notes on two OCD forums and a newsgroup asking for birth
data. I now have 33 birth dates and have decided to leave it at that.
I haven't managed to get or write a program to do the stats, so I've
e-mailed the data to Ray Murphy who has offered to do them for me. I'll
post my results as soon as I've got them.

Who is making the OCD diagnoses and how are they making it? Hopefully
you will post the entire experiement so we can determine whether the
stats arrived at are even feasible.

Rudeness will not help get your posting privileges back in amod, Mr.
Wollmann. Ray Murphy has suggested that you be marginalized for a period
of one week, and I find myself in agreement with him. Please do not try
to post to amod during this time or I will be forced to take a firmer
hand.
Thank you,

Good point. But I think it's all right. Nearly everybody who replied has a
diagnosis from a qualified psychologist, and all of them have found out as
much as they can about it, and are as sure about it as they can be.

Not really, I know what beliefs cause OCD. Nothing you come up with is
going to make much difference. Plus, there are a million combinations
of astrological significators that all could be reflective of the
potential for OCD and everybody has all dysfunctional attributes of
everything, so it won't say much. Astrology is not a science and
people have free will, those two factors don't really lend themselves
to "testing".

much as they can about it, and are as sure about it as they can be.
Hopefully
you will post the entire experiement so we can determine whether the
stats arrived at are even feasible.
=A0Of course. =A0Does anyone want the raw data? =A0There's a lot of it, b=

put it in if you like.

Not really, I know what beliefs cause OCD.

data. I now have 33 birth dates and have decided to leave it at that.
I haven't managed to get or write a program to do the stats, so I've
e-mailed the data to Ray Murphy who has offered to do them for me. I'll
post my results as soon as I've got them.

I don't really trust psychiatry and their labels. I know this as a
neurodivergent who has been given psychiatric misdiagnoses of
schizoaffective bipolar without any psychological nor neurological
testing being done. The problem is that the symptoms of
neurodivergence (Dyslexia,Dyspraxia,ADHD,Autistic Spectrum) overlap
with psychiatric disorders. Mary Colley, one of the people that
neurodiversity organization,DANDA in the United Kingdom pointed out to
me that many neurodivergents in the UK have been misdiagnosed as
bipolar and schizophrenia. Dyspraxics can be easily misdiagnosed as
disorganized type of schizophrenia and bipolar.
Poor coordination,left/right confusion,memory disturbances,speech
problems are not only symptoms of disorganized type of schizophrenia
but also neurodivergence like Dyspraxia.
many people with neurodivergence fit the symptoms of obsessive
compulsive disorder. People on the autistic spectrum do. A matter
of fact, I talked to a family who has as a son who has autism last
Saturday. He has symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder. Many
Dyspraxics are obsessive. I can tell you straight up that I tend to
be a bit obsessive. Anybody knows me well can see that I have
obsessive traits. I do have Dyspraxia along with Dyslexia and ADHD.
I think that you will find that the same aspects you will find in
psychiatric disorders, you will find in neurodivergent people. That
goes for obsessive compulsive disorder too. That's one of the
problems that I see as an astrologer. Many astrologers don't
understand that neurodivergence and psychiatric disorders are similar
in symptoms and traits as well tend to have comorbidity. Psychiatric
problems are often secondary symptoms in coping with the
neurodivergence. For instance, many neurodivergent people have anxiety
and depression disorders. Many Dyspraxics have anxiety and
depression, and I am no different. It stems from low self esteem and
being insecure about our competence and intelligence and that we are
treated in society as outcasts and being seen as disordered in this
predominantly neurotypical (normal neurological processing) world.
As a neurodiversity advocate, I want to help my fellow
neurodivergents. I am interested in exploring the astrology of
neurodivergence which is lacking in the astrological community even
though much of astrology is focused on the psychology of a person.
Many neurodivergent people have psychological problems. Many of the
interpretations for psychological problems are also interpretations
for neurodivergence.....especially the hard Neptune aspects that get a
bad reputation for being fantasy-prone and self deceptive....they also
fit with extreme sensitivity and confusion (being confused as well as
being confusing to others) that many neurodivergents tend to have. Of
course, many are hard to pin down and misdiagnosed.
I think that you will see hard Uranus and Neptune aspects involving
both neurodivergence and psychiatric disorders. I also believe that
hard kuiper belt aspects are involved too. Pluto and the plutinos
seem to share some traits too. It's possible that obsessive
compulsive types could have hard Pluto aspects or hard plutino
aspects.
The following is from Dyspraxia USA website
"Emotions as a result of difficulties experienced:
* Tend to get stressed, depressed and anxious easily
* May have difficulty sleeping
* Prone to low self-esteem, emotional outbursts, phobias, fears,
obsessions, compulsions and addictive behavior"

True enough. I know about that, and have been trying to find out more
details with no success. But I can't really see why it doesn't count as OCD
in an autistic person. I don't mean so-called "obsessive" interests etc.,
but the exact symptoms that would constitute OCD in a neurotypical person.
Can you shed any light on this?
I think it's all right about the diagnosis - the people who have taken part
in the study have all looked into the subject, and are sure that they have
OCD if anyone has. It may be that OCD is not a homogenous condition, but
several unrelated conditions with similar symptoms. So-called "schizoid
personality disorder" is another example of this kind of diagnosis - a
blanket term for anything with a certain set of symptoms, regardless of the
cause. This is one of the things that might show up in the astrology.

So am I. What have you found out so far? This area of astrology doesn't
seem to have been studied as much as it deserves. I don't think they've
even settled the signifiers for standard autism.

Can I ask how you came to this conclusion? Because Ray Murphy e-mailed me
some preliminary results a few days ago, and one of the things he noticed
was a high-ish rate of Moon square Uranus. I wouldn't have guessed that
myself.
I did wonder about Pluto, and it will be interesting to see whether it
appears in the full results. I don't know if Mr Murphy takes account of
plutinos or not. I haven't studied them myself.
