A certain "Ed Conrad" posting under various aliases has continued
to assert that human remains have been found in coal strata. Since
conventional wisdom holds that coal deposits were principally laid down
during the Carboniferous Period millions of years before mammals,
let alone humans, these claims have been received with skepticism
by most of the scientific community.

However, surprising new information has come to light which may verify
Dr. Conrad's claims. A team of graduate geology students from
the University of Calgary who were excavating a Late Pennsylvanian coal
seam near East Coulee, Alberta unearthed what appears to be the remains
of a somewhat battered but nearly-intact V-twin motorcycle. In fact,
the inscription "HARLEY DAVIDSON", while faded over hundreds of millions
of years is still clearly legible on the dented gas tank.
