Well, from what he has to say about MSG, my strictly amateur opinion is
that "im gontzen a meshuggener" is not too inaccurate a diagnosis. That
is, someone who spends his time eating at restaurants famous for their
large servings of high fat and high sugar foods and then blames obesity on
the MSG they add, is not exactly the sharpest tack on the bulletin board.
And that's not even addressing the issue of why there is not a huge
incidence of autism, obesity, diabetes, etc. among the Chinese.

I am not saying this this is the case, but this guy Erb does have a
history:

Let's not jump to any conclusions until the facts are in. In the US,
there is no arrest without charges in a reasonable time.

This is why I don't like "group homes" There is not enough staff in
group homes to oversee the problem employee(s). Can you imagine
having your totally dependent loved one at a group home with only
three staff members and all three come from the same gene pool! No
thanks.

One of my clients insures quite a few group homes. I have visited
several and some are well run. Some are not.

For the most part, the workers are there because they do care to
provide a better life for the residents. They are poorly paid, and
most assuredly, do not do this work to get rich. Some have second
jobs.

I also encounter groups from the group homes as we go about doing
various things. We know several residents, and they are quite content
with what is provided for them. Many of them were socially isolated
before entering a group home.

The bottom line, though, is to thoroughly check out the group home,
have several that are good, and be prepared to switch if the "fit" is
not right.

Donna, could you explain this comment of yours:

"three staff members and all three come from the same gene pool!"

Thanks

I know some do care. It only takes that one to ruin it for all,
though!

They should have web cams set up 24 hours a day, so parents could sign
on and see whats going on at all hours.

I just mean that in a group home if you have three staff members that
are bad, they are from the same gene pool, They carry the evil gene!
Not good for the residents...
