Who will pay for this 300 millions? Will McCain back it up? Is
this official or is he trying to get your votes?
Why Electric? Battery charging station could be problem, any how
the bottom line is you still have to pay someone for energy,
nothing is free. Electric bill will go higher in price if there
is a demand for it.
I had a solution for America 2 years ago, I have doubled the
mileage for gasoline cars, no hydrogen junk, just pure gas. This
means we can cut off Foreign oil by 1/2. I'm looking for a radio
or a tv company to witness my road test. Yup... my Mercedes-Benz
C280 can go 600+ miles on a full tank. Most cars usually go
about 250 - 300 miles on a full tank. Why replacing the entire
world's cars for electric cars when you can fix existing cars? |

What kind of FOOL would buy into this obvious political ploy by
McWhine?
Asshole that he is, even a demented POW victim knows "alternative"
automobile fuel is not even dream-worthy!
And this anal-venty poster here is trying to pull some legs -- if not
dicks! |

I maintain I can develop an electric motor that will run off solar cells and
drive a car to speeds of 80 mph if I can get the backing. No gasoline
required at all.

Only problem is that it weighs as much as a tank, goes from 0-80 in five
minutes, needs a month in the phoenix sun to charge the batteries sufficiently
for a 5 mile trip, and costs a half million dollars.
Other than that, it's wonderful. |

The on board solar cells MAY give you enough energy to adjust your power
mirrors if you do not adjust them too often. But not nearly enough to
ever pay for the cells.
Meanwhile, your new air conditioning load totally overwhelms any pv
energy gain from sitting in the sun.
To date, NOT ONE NET WATTHOUR of pv solar energy has EVER been produced.
Well, PV Cells weren't invented for morons like GM Though.
That's why we put them in calculators, satellites, dashboards,
lasers, robots, and USB, rather than imbelices like AT&T
Headquarters,

"EPA: Smog could get worse with global warming"
(Source: Associated Press, 7//10/08)
Global warming could worsen smog and stretch what typically is a
summer pollution problem into the spring and fall, government
scientists predicted Thursday.
Smog is most likely to get worse in the Northeast, lower Midwest, and
mid-Atlantic regions of the country, where numerous counties and
cities are already struggling to clean up the air, according to a
draft analysis by the Environmental Protection Agency.
But in Texas and Southern California, already among the smoggiest
areas in the country, the science is unclear, even conflicting. Smog
there could get slightly better or become more severe, the analysis said.
Nonetheless, researchers said state officials should be factoring in
the impact of global warming as they make plans to try to reduce smog,
calling it a "climate penalty."
"These findings also indicate, that, where climate-change-induced
increases in (smog) do occur, damaging effects on ecosystems,
agriculture, and health will be especially pronounced, due to
increases in the frequency of extreme pollution events," the analysis
concluded. However, the prediction came with a caveat: the researchers
did not take into account efforts to reduce smog that are already
under way because of stricter environmental regulations.
EPA stressed that the document did not represent the agency's policies
or position on global warming. On Friday, the agency is scheduled to
officially respond to a Supreme Court ruling that said greenhouse
gases could be regulated under the Clean Air Act if they pose a risk
to human health or welfare.
The Bush administration has resisted linking global warming to public
health problems.
The ill-effects of smog, however, have been long been recognized. Smog
is formed when nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds released
from cars, industry and plants mix in sunlight. It can irritate the
respiratory system, reduce lung capacity and aggravate asthma. Global
warming would make smog worse because it would cause plants to release
more smog-forming organic compounds and spark more lightning storms,
which create nitrogen oxides naturally.
Barry Wallerstein, executive director of the South Coast Air Quality
Management District, which regulates air pollution in Orange County,
Calif., and parts of Los Angeles, said the link between global warming
and smog should compel EPA to control greenhouse gas emissions. |

Yeah, I remember. Judge threw it out last week I think. What has that
to do with horse power--it was a horse's ass that ran that thing aground.
