[Moderator's note: I have set followups to the poster. -P.H.]
[Moderator's note: This is technically off-topic, but perhaps important
for readers here. In a classic case of throwing the baby out with the
bathwater, in a move to fight child pornography, several large internet
providers are stopping carrying newsgroups except the Big Eight or even
stopping carrying newsgroups altogether. Google Groups will probably
still be accessible to those whose provider stops carrying newsgroups,
but with the disadvantages of a web-based interface. Other news servers
are available, but some of the bathwater being thrown out might be NNTP
access to external news servers. I would recommend moving to another
provider and telling the old one why, if your provider actually follows
through on this exaggerated action. -P.H.]
