Excuse me. What are your (plural) motives for all the arguments you
(plural) posted in sci.stat.math? |

Dear Mr Aruzinsky,
Luis Amaral Afonso is the primary exponent of "Adumbostistics". To give you an feel for the subject, here are a couple tenets of Adumbostistics:
*******************************************************
p-values and significance levels are the same thing
THREAD: Difference on means THREAD STARTED: Aug 22 2007, 1:09 pm
*******************************************************
*******************************************************
Stirling's Formula is 0 = 0, which follows after taking the limits in the Adumbostistics version of Stirling's Formula
THREAD: Two birthday probability problems THREAD STARTED: Feb 27, 5:40 pm
*******************************************************
If you search for the word 'adumbostistics', you will find several more examples.
Speaking for myself, I don't want newbies who come to this list looking for 'statistics' to confuse statistics with adumbostistics. Hence, I try to point out the differences between the two.
Sincerely,
John Smith |

But, typical newbies don't look at threads they don't initiate.
Instead, they immediately post a question. Since the OP of this
thread was not a newbie, there is little chance of any newbie being
influenced by this thread.
If I had your stated motive, I would mostly attack disinformation
given in response to posts where the OP is not a member of my debate
club. |

My response
It was too long , and of any interest,to prove John´s lies about my
posters. However John ignorance is so large that insists along with
HIS MASTER (the IMBECILE DUO) that the Null Hypotheses can be proved
true and accepted against all theory (including the R.A. Fisher
explicit advice). Furthermore the IMBECILE DUO do not believe that
one can always approximate the empirical D.F. of a test statistics to
the analytical one, what allows us to obtain Critical Values by
simulating procedures. They even ignored that the approach error was
possible to be known by the DKW unequality. This facts should be
noticed by the Readers in order to appreciate how * far * the
IMBECILE DUO goes in what cncerns Statistical matters.

The interested reader is directed to the sequence of posts outline the basic tenets of Adumbostistics in the five (or was it six?) part series, "Principles of Adumbostistics", on or about May 20th 2008. Here are few gems to spark your interest:
*******************************************************
Zero does not equal zero but instead equals 1.4546E-157. When Luis Amaral Afonso takes the limits in his version of Stirling's Formula, he gets
lim (n! / (n^n)) = sqrt (2*pi) * lim (sqrt(n) / exp (n) = 1.4546E-157
THREAD: Two birthday probability problems THREAD STARTED: Feb 27, 5:40 pm
*******************************************************
Stirling's Forumula has a limit operator in it! Specifically, in Adumbostistics, Stirling's Formula is lim (n! / (n^n)) = sqrt (2*pi) * lim (sqrt(n) / exp (n)
THREAD: Two birthday probability problems THREAD STARTED: Feb 27, 5:40 pm
************************************************
200/400 - 100/400 = 0.0500 (instead of the correct 0.2500)
THREAD: CLOPPER-PEARSON intervals to compare Binomial Proportions THREAD STARTED: Jul 23 2007, 5:23 pm
***************************************************
It is permissible to express the null and alternative hypotheses not in terms of unknown parameters, but in terms of sample statistics.
THREAD: statistical approach question THREAD STARTED: Apr 21 2007, 1:13 pm
