It's NOT "passive aggressive". It's 100% AGGRESSIVE self-advocacy and
insistence on timely and accurate feedback from a physician who is
proposing to do an invasive (but crucial) procedure under some form of
anasthesia preceded by an equally-important prep with many options
(each of which has pros/cons).
You whoever you are may be a sheep and say in the real world complete
and accurate information is not doable. I will insist on it.
I'm not a sheep, but I do understand the difference between health care and
buying a car. Insist away

PS--Since I last posted the doc's office got back to me (finally)
answered all of my prep questions (with annotated written information
from his lead nurse) and offered to schedule me for the colonoscopy
for next week. I had to ask for an additional week so now it's a go
for August 5th with both patient and doctor on the same page.
Thank god for that |

Steph--We can agree to slightly disagree
PS--I'm also in the market for a new car (I like the Chevy Malibu),
Any tips from one who claims to understand the diff would be greatly
appreciated as I'm overmatched in trying to "insist" on fair informed
feedback from these dealers. A "how to" guide is needed
I'll let y'all know how the August 5th colonoscopy went. |

When you buy a car, you want what is in your best interests - the best car
at the lowest price. The dealer wants what is in his best interests - the
most profit.
When you are dealing with your physician, you BOTH want what is best for
YOU. Now do you see the difference? |

Here's what I see. I insisted on getting answers before going forward
with a crucial diagnostic procedure. Despite your "take it easy you're
not getting everything you want" view of the farm, I mean world, I
eventually did get all of my answers. Had I not done so I would have
changed physicians and would not have lowered my standards.
The colonoscopy occurred yesterday (August 5th) and though the prep.
was its usual nightmare, the procedure was a breeze. At every
turn, doctor and ALL Surgical Center personnel were beyond professional
(kind, caring and yes answering MORE questions from me both before and
after the procedure).
I actually thought you were joking when you said you know the diff
between medical care and buying a car. That is why I (jokingly)
replied help me find a Malibu. Instead I received ANOTHER humorless
lecture about "can (I) now see the difference". Steph newsflash for
you: I ALWAYS could tell the difference. I do not insist on 100%
correct info (or fair dealings) from a car dealer. I do and always
will from my doctors and their staff(s).
And since you seem to enjoy lecturing here's a closing one for you:
you should too--your life and well-being depends on it. |
