See Subject. I need it for instructional purposes. It need not be elaborate.
It should be easy to read and just represent one night in the sky. I want
to turn it into a transparency for use with an overhead projector. A
transparent background would be good, that is, white.

Planisphere, ISBN 90-801496-1-6.
Or Stellarium, select correct time/date and orientation,
hit the "print screen" button, close Stellarium, open Paint
(or another photo/draw pack) and paste the clipboard.
Then print it on a transparency.

That looks like a useful page, but what's the simplest way to get one page
printer for a sky map? Any month or year will do.

real sky look.

Why not use the PDF version of Sky & Telescope's Interactive Sky Chart? It
has your desired white background and should be quite adaptable to your
specifications. Here is the link to Sky & Telescope's Interactive Sky
Chart: http://tinyurl.com/3j8ut7

Look at the bottom left margin of the chart and click on "CREATE PDF." If
your system lacks the required PDF reader, I would suggest using the Foxit
Reader (free download and much ligher than ADOBE). Here is the url for the
free Foxit Reader: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/

One must be a member of the site to access this but registration is quick,
free, and easy.

That ought to do it. Good luck!

Actually by pressing the F1 key you can put it in a windowed mode.

Download Cartes du Ciel. It is a free program that will allow you to print
out those type of charts.

This is quite good, but I'd like to copy the resulting image into a Word
doc. I don't see a mechanism for doing that. It would also be nice to beef
up the lines representing constellations. Ah, I'm using Acrobat Pro and it
can convert the pdf into a jpg, which can be pasted into a doc.

Not until after (approximately) the first of the month. I think they do
that because they want to sell their planispheres.
