Farfalle Jambalaya
Things you will need:
1 gas stove
1 6-quart cooking pot
1 deep-dish skillet
1 cheese-grater (w/small grates)
1/8 cup Extra Virgin olive oil
1 medium [Vidalia] onion
5 cloves garlic
8 oz of shiitake mushrooms
2 pinch black pepper
1 pinch white pepper
3 dash [dried] thyme
2 dash [dried] basil
1 dash salt
1/2 tsp Shoyu (un-pasteurized is preferable)
1 lb Extra Firm tofu
1 small zucchini
1 small yellow-squash
1 medium sweet pepper (I had a red one, though an orange one would be ideal)
1-1/2 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
1 lb farfalle pasta
Fill the cooking pot with 4 quarts water, and set to boil.
Chop the onion into small pieces (cut vertical to the core, and place each
half, respectively, on the cut face; cut multiple slices 90% of the way into
the half aligned with the grain, then cut perpendicular to the latter cuts to
get an easy dice). Put the oil in the skillet, turn the flame to high, and
add the diced onion. Grate the garlic into the skillet. Stir until oil-coated.
Cut the stems off the heads of the mushrooms, slice into small pieces, and
place in skillet. Cut the mushroom heads into 16 pieces, and add to skillet.
Add the black/white pepper, thyme and basil. Stir mixture until saturated
with oil.
Add the farfalle and the salt to the boiling water, and stir until the pasta
separates.
Drain the tofu, cut into 1cm cubes and add to skillet. Stir briefly. Cut the
squash into 4 sections, lengthwise, then cut these sections at a 45deg angle
into narrow slices. Cut the pepper into thin, 1" strips. Add the squash and
sweet pepper to the skillet, then stir the components until thoroughly mixed.
Add the cream, then the Shoyu, and stir everything together. Drop flame to
low, and place a heat diffuser under the skillet (so the sauce won't burn
while reading [a few] posts).
When the pasta is ready, drain it (but don't rinse), and let sit for 5 minutes.
Gather a good helping of the farfalle on your favorite staging device, cover
with a generous amount of the Jambalaya, and top with grated cheese.
Make sure the burners are off, and Enjoy!

6 and 28 are perfect numbers. This means that the sum of all numbers
that will divide into them evenly gives you that number.
6 is divisable by 1, 2,and 3. So 1 + 2 + 3 = 6.
28 is divisable by 1, 2, 4, 7, and 14. So ! + 2 + 4 + 7 + 14 = 28.
Descartes said that perfect numbers are few, just like perfect
people. Except of course amongst alt.astronomy Earth Science
Officers!
IIRC, the next perfect number is 496.
I figure 38, 24 and 36 are all perfect numbers!!! |
