Having a panic attack is a terrifying experience. It usually starts
with a sudden, inexplicable sense of fear, and then escalate, adding
other symptoms along the way, such as feelings of choking or
suffocation, chest pain, dizziness, lightheadedness, losing control,
or that you're going crazy or having a heart attack. Prescription drug
therapies are often used in treating anxiety disorders (anxiety
attacks and panic attacks are the same thing), but many of them can be
addictive, and symptoms, return when medication is withdrawn. There
are, however, several natural anxiety disorder treatments that
psychiatrists and psychologists use, sometimes in conjunction with
drug therapy, sometimes not, that actually can successfully treat
anxiety disorders.
The most commonly known and widely used methods for controlling panic
attack symptoms are: switching to a healthier diet, including
eliminating caffeine, and deep breathing exercises. Caffeine is a
stimulant that can make you edgy, irritable and anxious. Removing it
from your diet, and eating more nutritious foods can make you feel
better and give you more restful sleep. Breathing exercises are
calming and help you avoid hyperventilation during panic attacks.
These are good tools for controlling panic attacks, but treat the
symptoms and not the disorder....

That isn't a panic attack. The distinct difference being that a
panic attack happens in spite of the lack of plausible danger.

Any more brilliant psychological science from you today, Frank?

adding
other symptoms along the way, such as feelings of choking or
suffocation, chest pain, dizziness, lightheadedness, losing
control,
or that you're going crazy or having a heart attack.
Prescription
drug
therapies are often used in treating anxiety disorders (anxiety
attacks and panic attacks are the same thing), but many of them
can
be
addictive, and symptoms, return when medication is withdrawn.
There
are, however, several natural anxiety disorder treatments that
psychiatrists and psychologists use, sometimes in conjunction
with
drug therapy, sometimes not, that actually can successfully
treat
anxiety disorders.
The most commonly known and widely used methods for controlling
panic
attack symptoms are: switching to a healthier diet, including
eliminating caffeine, and deep breathing exercises. Caffeine is
a
stimulant that can make you edgy, irritable and anxious.
Removing
it
from your diet, and eating more nutritious foods can make you
feel
better and give you more restful sleep. Breathing exercises are
calming and help you avoid hyperventilation during panic
attacks.
These are good tools for controlling panic attacks, but treat
the
symptoms and not the disorder....

What good does this info do me when I'm in the middle of losing
control
of my car, am in a 360 spinout heading into the opposite lanes
and
see
a
huge Mac truck coming at me and I have a panic attack?

That isn't a panic attack. The distinct difference being that a
panic attack happens in spite of the lack of plausible danger.

My dear, who are you to define a panic attack? Do you have some
narrow
sphere definition that excludes all other forms of panic attacks?

Don't take my word for it, Frank. Look it up.

Shame you don't have the proof to post.

You wouldn't accept the proof Frank. It's what you do when
presented with evidence.

- Ignore (snip it out entirely, unread)
- Repeat blatant assertion
- Discredit the source. In this case it would be the APA, and
something along the lines of "MD's, Ph.D.'s and others who wrote
the DSM-IV-TR are intellectuals, so they have no credibility".

Heh.

Any more brilliant psychological science from you today, Frank?

ROTFLOL, you call that science? Where were the absolutes, and I'm
not
speaking of Vodka.

You were unaware of the group you're posting in?

Surprise! ;)

It's pretty obvious that Franky is here to stalk Linda, so she
can have something legitimate on Usenet to whine about. You know
it couldn't have happened to a nicer person.

lol. He can be one of the "Usenet 500," which represents Linda's new
claim about the number of people stalking her here. I wonder if he has
the requisite red shirt?

Having a panic attack is a terrifying experience. It usually
starts
with a sudden, inexplicable sense of fear, and then escalate,

control,
or that you're going crazy or having a heart attack.

Heh, you a senior citizen of something, there were no links in this
thread to snip that were posted by you.

And as to any sources supplied by Ph.D's, and others in any field none
are to be trusted based on what they write until they have a very long
history behind them, even then many are apt to supply fraudulent
material for the sake of funding (welfare)

Look at all the recent Nobel prizes that were blatant lies. Look at Gore
who is about as bright as yourself and the GW bs he's been touting and
all the fraudulent support for it.

Yes, your "logic" is seriously flawed, and don't even bother bringing up
peer review unless the peer review comes from well known harsh critics.
There is simply too much collusion either willing or forced.

Better you should play the part of being Peter's doting mother.
