Reason and God are mutually exclusive.
That depends on what you mean by God. I see God as a conscious
Universe and have extremely sound reasoning behind this.
Let's have it!
Its extremely simple Tokay. You are a system of pure energy. You are
conscious. Therefore energy must be conscious unless of course you hold
the patently absurd belief that consciousness magically emerges out of
nothing. The Universe is a system of the same pure energy (all the
energy there is). Therefore the Universe is conscious.
The logical fallacies are manifold:
Primarily red herring, appeal to absurdity, and irrelavent conclusion.
I am a system of pure energy, I have a nickle in my pocket. Therefore
energy must have a nickle in it pocket.
Uhmm...first, the pocket and the nickel are energy too. Secondly the
nickel is not an inherent property of yours. Consciousness is. Thirdly
the nickel is not even part of your system, its external to it.
It is really bad logic.
Sorry my logic is pristine, you just can't follow it. The addictions to
your beliefs preclude it.
--
You logic has fallacies, it isn't pristine...If you wish to redefine
some things as outside the system, yet everything in the system, you
are playing evquivocation games.
There are no fallacies. I have made no redefinitions. You OTOH seemed to
have bizarrely redefined humans as being integral to arbitrary external
objects placed upon them.
Quote: Look If I, a system of energy, have a property, lets say "love of my
mother yet a hatred of brussel sprouts" it does not mean a volcano,
also a system of energy, also has "love of my mother and a hatred of
brussel sprouts" Nor would it mean the universe would have a "love of
my mother and a hatred of brussell sprouts"
What you don't seem to notice is that the one system, you, is an
integrated system of the other, the Universe. A person system is in no
way integrated to a volcano system. So the Universe does have a "love of
your mother and a hatred of brussell sprouts" property in the you
subsystem it is integrated with. The Universe doesn't have this property
as a hole because this property is an illusory emergent property like
hardness, colour or taste. The Universe is governed by laws of
attraction and repulsion though which the human property is based on.
Quote: It is bad logic. A really extreme case of hasty generalization.
Pity it never happened.

Really? According to Einstein's famous equation E=MC˛, energy is

states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, just changed from one

is based on these principles.
This is misunderstanding of the concept as well as playing with words.

Everybody I have ever met has been a physical system of neurons and
synapses contained in a complex machine made out of meat. I know I
am.
And what are neurons, synapses and meat made of?
You are conscious. Therefore energy must be conscious unless of

It is quite easy to derive silly conclusions from nonsensical
premises, as you have demonstrated here.
And the premises are non-nonsensical exactly how? Because you blindly
believe it? Excuse me if I am skeptical.
What is a car made of? It can drive....
So, by your line of reasoning, since a car is made of various elements
(to take it to the extreme), namely Iron, carbon, etc, etc, it means you
can drive iron?
bananas....

No, it is neither. You are free to explain yourself though. Unless

That you can transform matter into energy and vice versa does not say
anything about the attributes of either.
You could also say that an aeroplane is made of metal and since
aeroplanes can fly, so can metal.
This is your line of argument.
See here: (from your post up the thread)
Quote: You are a system of pure energy. You are
conscious. Therefore energy must be conscious
Planes are made of metal. Planes can fly. Therefor metal can fly.
Well, it can, if you build a plane out of those metals. But not JUST the
metal, which was what you were implying.
This is silly logic at best.

Really? According to Einstein's famous equation E=MC², energy is
equivalent to mass or matter. Mass can be converted into energy and
energy can be converted into mass. The law of conservation of energy
states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, just changed from one
form to another. Therefore since matter can be converted into energy,
matter is just a form of energy. The entire foundation of modern physics
is based on these principles.
This is misunderstanding of the concept as well as playing with words.
I understand now:
Mike is a self-proclaimed "philosopher", and therefore a very real
intellectual masturbator. |
