Maybe I should check the moon too. You think?

Yes. So long as you don't fudge the data.

Oh, and lest I forget, the quake doesn't count if it falls on
odd tuesdays. The pattern never seems to fit those days.

Brian;

I checked the syzygys against the fatal cyclones list and found that
over 25% of the cyclones fall within an 8 day window from 1 day before
syzygy to 6 days after syzygy.

Jim B. will be so happy! No doubt he will cite this as proof of his
theories.

PS: Odd Tuesdays??? I don't even know how to compute that. Your theory
is becoming untestable.

Odd numbers...ya know? 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc...

Sheesh, you scientist types are so dumb. :)

That's about the same statistics for when twins are conceived. Must
be a connection.

No no no.

Any week where the data does not match the theory
is odd, to be ignored.

Jim;

Now THAT computes! It's a standard method in certain fields and gives
very good results.

All this has got me thinking. I was just noticing all the quake
activity around the geysers in northern california. I'm old enough to
remember when the quake maps did _not_ show that kind of activity.
Same for Mammoth lakes. If you think about it, it's pretty clear that
the installation of the seismometers is probably sparking the
tremors. Certainly, we can test this idea -- take out the
seismometers and then look at the quake maps. I'll bet there's a
strong correlation.

Well...true. But sometimes I wish I could fake it.

I've always wanted to do a little experiment..... Fire up the
ol' Hoax-a-Matic and see how far it goes.

And I bet at some indeterminate time in the future, you will be able to
purchace one of these machines that do little more than make the
inventor rich enough to vacation in Arizona without having to sleep in a

You're a little late. Maybe Vortex 2010 would be better.
