I'm looking at a paper, 1985, on photographic meteor trajectory
determination using a Zeis Ascorecord measuring device with a Zeis Distagon
fisheye lens, f/3.5, f = 30 mm. The paper gives a formula related to the
lens as z = U + Vr + S exp(Dr), where z is an angular distance from the
zenith, r is the distance from the center of project to known points, and
the cap letters are parameters that need to be determined. They do not
describe U or V, as far as I can see. S and D relate to a "shortening" of
the scale with r. U and V have the look of coordinates--(u,v). Is anyone
familiar with formulas such as this one? It seems unusual that a mfger would
publish one.
