To me this system seems to always be having problems. What exactly is the
issue with this system. On paper, so to speak, an evaporation cooler is just
plumbing and hardly hi tech!

I thought I heard mention, during the time frame of payload bay door
opening, that they wanted to switch back from B to A on the F.E., and
the reason was to clear ice particles.
Isn't part of the problem that the touchy part of the plumbing is
rather fine (but not capillary?) and so ice crystals can be a major
deal?

Based on my limited understanding of what they said during the wednesday
morning press briefing, they switched back to the A evaporator later on
to see how it behaved and the problem contined. Something about some
sensors not working properly. They may decide to just declare the A
"dead" and not spend anytime debugging it during the mission. |

Could be, but the problem started not long after launch, so unless it was
already frozen...
They have had several attempts at recycling it, and none have worked.
