At least it isn't Petra's nonsense.
"Adapted from materials provided by Geological Society of America, via
EurekAlert!, a service of AAAS."
Doesn't quite clarify whose nonsense it is.
Please don't tell me. I prefer life in ignorance, where 'tis folly to
be so wise, ta. |

EurekAlert is an online global news service provided by the AAAS,
the American Assoicaiton for the Advancement of Science. AAAS
also publishes the respectable jouranl, Science.
The GSA is a respected geological society for professionals in
the field. Science Daily is a magazine of popularized science
articles from other, more technical sources.
And it isn't nonsense? |

The cited article isn't. I don't know about any personal
interpretations or extrapolations therefrom.

Quote: Subduction Zones And Plate Movement On West Coast of Canada
And US
ScienceDaily (Mar. 3, 2008) — There is perhaps no better
place on Earth to study the origin of continents than
Alaska. Alaska is composed of fragments of crust that were
transported northward on a plate-tectonic conveyor belt and
scraped off against the North American continent as the
conveyor belt (oceanic plates) descended beneath it.
[followed by a discussion of the hypothesised sub-structure of
Alaska]
Interesting, but I don't see too much relevance to
Petra's dowsing (or whatever mumbo jumbo she uses). Pretty
conventional geology.

Hi Bob,
I see your manhood is in question here, since you have to lower
yourself to such depths to mention me in making one silly post with a
link. Like you can't handle that on your own without making undue
comments.
It should be easy to understand that anything new in science takes
forever to find acceptance and things just have to take a course of
years to confirm and be acknowledged and just because it's a new idea
or concept doesn't mean it's without value, it means is new and some
folks have problems with anything that's new, even when it comes down
to something so simple as butter versus margarine or oil spread on
toast.
So don't worry about what I'm doing or how I'm doing it. Ignore it as
long as you possibly can. At least I'm out doing something besides
sitting behind a computer typing stupid messages. I had a nice trip
to Potter Valley the other day to install another instrument. The
weather was beautiful and what a fantastic drive it is to go along the
Coast Range next to the Maacama Fault and see what's happened during
the winter. The school bus sized rock between Asti and Hopland is
showing itself much more prominately than before and one day I'd like
to see what happens when it gets down closer to Hwy 101 and see what
they do about it. Of course the blood red filled cracks in the road
near Potter Valley are still an eye catcher as are the Bison grazing
at the Bison store and nature was in it's full pre-spring glory
abounding with pink and white blossoms on the trees and the love tiny
flowers that grow in the median strip on the highway. There's so much
to enjoy out in nature and I hope you'll take some time to enjoy it,
get out and go for a walk/hike and start living instead of kibitzing
so much.
God Bless,
Petra |

Agreed. I had a comeback, but decided not to stoop that low.
Brian
Likewise. It would have only resulted in Petra sending me more love
notes, and my husband is getting quite sick of that.

Doing what? Doing what, exactly? You're full of words and
short on substance. You're claiming to be doing all sorts
of stuff towards prediction, even claiming to have it done,
but not one iota of information on how or anything.

Hi Brian,
And I should explain in detail to you what instruments, how they work,
exactly where they are and such for what reason?
You can join Bob in twiddling your thumbs because you're not doing
anything either.

Only for one reason: establishing your own credibility.

So how is the bitter-old-bitch thing working out for you, Petra? |
