It's become sort of a tradition for administrations that are in trouble
to propose some grandiose space project (generally a manned flight to
Mars), but Hillary has shown that campaigns in trouble can do the same
thing:

I assume this has something to do with her poll numbers in Texas. :-D

....Here's a really funny one: amongst the Lesbian community here in
CenTex, her numbers aren't as high on the approval rating scale as she
once thought. Apparently she's lost a few pink triangle points because
she's obviously keeping Slick Willie around as a "whipped puppy
trophy" rather than dumping him back when he got caught with that
Oompa-Loompa in a blue dress. They may vote for her simply out of
voting for their own kind, but there's no longer a guarantee that will
happen. It *could* turn the Dem vote here in favor of Obama.

But that wouldn't be politics as usual, much less presidential worthy
politics where lies beget lies and so forth until hell freezes over,
of which our best AGW effort is never going to allow much of anything
to freeze except the poor folks that already can't afford to eat and
heat their home at the same time, or of those that can't swim in a
FEMA polluted cesspool is just tough cookies.

The next to last political fool being entirely specific as to space
related matters was JFK, and that plan of action certainly didn't
quite turn out as he'd thought (similar to what Jesus Christ had
thought was going to be simply another faith-based PR stunt).

Here in Cincinnati, I don't think I've ever heard a news report talking
about any political position held by the lesbian community. In fact, I
can't even recall any local news report mentioning the lesbian community!

Elfritzes, but the city still hasn't gone totally "gay trendy" save
for a couple of tourist trap districts. Oh, and a chain of really
lousy cafes called Kerbey Lane.

Portland's about as 'gay-trendy' as you can get, and there is a
running arguement with Seattle over the rights for the term 'San
Francisco North'. Supposedly, we have the highest ratio of lesbians to
the general populace in the country. I don't mind much (except for
wondering why all of the lunatic ones are in MY part of town!), but i
do dislike the media pandering to yet ANOTHER special interest group
at the expense of professional reporting.

I never have caught what the 'metro-sexual' bit is about, except it
apparently means whatever whom you're asking wants it to mean.

Hillary having Ellen "I'm a lesbian by the way...did you know that?"
DeGeneres show up on the monitor at her political rally was a
none-too-subtle attempt to garner some lesbian votes in a nicely
exploitive way...as one would expect from the both of them:

I never have caught what the 'metro-sexual' bit is about, except it
apparently means whatever whom you're asking wants it to mean.

It means men who spend as much time on their personal appearance as
women, and get facials, manicures, exfoliate, use all kinds of
ointments on their hair and skin, etc.

John Edwards seems to be one. It doesn't seem to correlate to sexual
orientation.

....The amazing thing about guys who go through this, is that in most
cases while their gals go for it at first, after a very short while
they start wanting their men to return to being more "manly" lest they
be confused with being gay or some semblance thereof. The only
exception seems to be pubic deprivation, which for obvious reasons I
could understand why a woman would prefer a man shorn like that.

(Cue Pat on the benefits of a shorn scrotum)

Yeah. On a broader scope, about 20 years ago Texas went from a single party
state to having lots of Republicans. Most of the Republicans, judges,
county commissioners and so on, were Democrats who went over to the
Republican party in order to stay in office.

The Democrats had gotten too nutty or too minority oriented. The so called
Republicans promised to fight sin and spend less. Somewhere along the way
the fight against sin became the main goal while spending and taxes
increased. Plus Gov Perry is some sort of arrogant asshole, unless there is
a lobbyist with a suitcase full of cash around.

To get to the point, the people in Texas are about ready to give the
Democrats another shot. Unfortunately.

The memory of Ann Richards will be enough to prevent that any time
soon, I think...
