A postdoctoral position is available immediately at Lehigh University
in the general area of experimental physical chemistry. The goal of
the research project is the development of spectroscopic approaches to
elucidate chemical reaction mechanisms on nanoparticle (NP) catalysts,
with a particular focus on systems involved in the development of
alternative energy technologies. The work will entail the use of
vibrational spectroscopy to probe the structures of reactant-NP
complexes stabilized in cryogenic matrices and helium nanodroplets.
Analysis of experimental spectra will be carried out with the aid of
density functional theory (DFT) calculations.
Highly-qualified candidates will have experience in several of the
following areas: infrared spectroscopy, synthesis and reactions of
nanoparticle catalysts, high and ultrahigh vacuum methods, mass
spectrometry. The position will involve working closely with
graduate and undergraduate students. Interested individuals should
send their CV (with publication list) and a list of three potential
references (phone numbers and email addresses) to
david.moore@lehigh.edu . Applications will be reviewed until the
position is filled. |
