I am a 22 year old Health Science major and have an interest in
psychiatry many helping people with Anxiety disorders, but do not want
to attend medical school. I was doing some research in the area of
Psychiatric Nurse Practioner and was wondering if someone can give me
the requirements for this area of study.Do i need a undergraduate
degree and work as a general RN in the hospital (which is not what i
want to do, i dont like the sight of blood),in order to become a
psychiatric nurse practioner or can i get an MS and go straight into
Psychiatry.Any opinions would be appreciated.
Thank You,
David

I don't know the answer to your question. If it were me, I would
continue the search and find some some schools that offer a
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program. Then I would search the site
for answers or send an email requesting information regarding
requirements for admission.
If you're going on for an advanced degree, you'll need to have very
good research skills. So this is a good place to start. Good luck!
