Hey,
I have noticed that there are two posts recently made on usenet that
say they are from me, they even show up in my google groups page - but
I didn't write them. I attempted to flag them as phoney, but I find
it very troubling.
This has never happened to me before, I didn't even think it was
possible to spoof someone in this way.
Just the other day I (along with many others) was spoofed in an
automated fashion in some 200 posts according to google.
Anyone have any idea how this could be done and more importantly how
to stop it?
Just change a few options in your newsreader and you can be anyone you
like.
Its something that if left unaddressed marginalizes whatever I say.
Because;
1) if I do nothing - then another can post any damn thing as me he
wants
2) if I change my online name - then people who know me as that
person can't find me
3) if I announce publicly that I'm being spoofed, then no one knows
for sure if its me writing
An overstatement, you are recognized as much by your writing style as
the name attached to your post. In particular the spoofer you recently
attracted is quite recognizable as not being you, but rather some one
else who posts here under two different names.
so, I guess I have been failed by Google, and the those who don't want
me to have a fair and honest forum to speak my piece, have won.
Ah well.
I have close to zero faith in googles willingness to deal with vandalism
coming either from them or to them. The only saving grace is they are a
still not a majority part of usenet although an important archive. I
rather suspect the majority of useful contributors rely on nnto provider
rather than using google odd interface.

I always figured the M15 Moron was a "TrainSpotter" type.........
"What is a train spotter? Everybody in England has a clear image in
their mind. A train spotter is a single man aged 25-50 who still lives
with his mother. He wears an anorak and has a supermarket carrier bag.
He has little sense of humour. He wears spectacles, one arm of which
is broken and held together by sticking-plaster. His life is spent on
station platforms with a notebook and pencil, writing down the serial
numbers of the carriages on every train he can see. He says things
like: "Aha! The 5.36 from London Paddington has carriages in reverse
formation today, which usually happens only on Sundays! The 6.10 to
Weymouth is running with D-class bogeys! The last time that happened
was in June 1988!" And so on." |

Dear Harry,
Glad you spent your times teaching my poor son (the Imposter). He had no education of any kind, he speaks broken Spanish, he still learns his ABC.. He thinks he can remove every post he doesn't like to read, he thinks he pays less for $3/gallon of Gas, he didn't know 1 barrel = 55 gallons, the only science he understands is the science of Lie for his politics.
Thanks,
Jack.

Actually Jack, Google carries less that 15% of the total newsgroups on
Usenet. Googles focus is largely on the newsgroups that they have
decided to archive for one reason or another. Mostly they archive the
"Big 8" newsgroups, with only a very limited number of the "alt"
groups and other Usenet domains.
Also, Google has no ability to delete posts once they are posted on
Usenet newsgroups. Google make no pretence of the fact that when you
read newsgroups on Google, you are not actually reading Usenet, so
they call everything the pick up from Usenet as a "Google Group". When
you post to a newsgroup using Google, Google sits on the post for an
undisclosed period of time and during that time you can delete it from
Google.
After that hold time expires, it is then passed on and posted to the
selected Usenet newsgroup, where it will remain under it expires in
accordance with the latency time of each particular news server (of
which there are, or were, thousands). Posts on Usenet generally cannot
be deleted because the vast bulk of news machines (Usenet servers)
refuse to recognize cancels (stemming from the days of the
cancelbots).

was in June 1988!" And so on."
But there are many such MI5s, and they act and/or react as though Old
Testament thumping their way along, in denial of their denials and
otherwise as anti-ETI and evidence excluding without remorse as you
can get. Damn few of our Usenet members are even willing to use their
real name, much less share the true faith of their own kind, which
only begs to suggest that they're very much in on the grand ruse/sting
of the century. How about yourself?

This has never happened to me before, I didn't even think it was
possible to spoof someone in this way.
Anyone have any idea how this could be done and more importantly how
to stop it?
Its something that if left unaddressed marginalizes whatever I say.
Because;
1) if I do nothing - then another can post any damn thing as me he
wants
2) if I change my online name - then people who know me as that
person can't find me
3) if I announce publicly that I'm being spoofed, then no one knows
for sure if its me writing
so, I guess I have been failed by Google, and the those who don't want
me to have a fair and honest forum to speak my piece, have won.
Ah well.

Have you changed your password?
Google/NOVA knows everything that's good or bad about Usenet. It
seems perfectly clear that they just elect to allow such spoof nasty
insiders or rogue MI5/CIA spooks to take place, because relatively
simple robo-filters on their part would have made not only easy to
prevent most of this silly media clownism, but also to inform the rest
of us as to the exact physical location and computer ID of those
originating such mainstream status quo nonsense.
We all know this kind of ID tracking and message filtering, blocking
or diverting is technically doable. So, you tell us why isn't Google/
NOVA doing a damn thing towards moderating such by at least diverting
it into alt.group.spam or whatever? (perhaps it's because they're in
on it)

As I've said many times, such Usenet spoofing has taken place using my
account several times, of which proves that Usenet insiders (including
Google/NOVA) and/or the likes of MI5/CIA spooks and moles do exist,
and that they are not being policed by their own kind. I'll also bet
a bottom dollar they're not Muslim.
It takes a supercomputer running flat out for days, weeks or even
months in order to uncover the typical password, each time.
Keep your Usenet name of "WilliamMook" or perhaps "wmh2" or "WMH2",
and then change your Usenet account password (as often as every
month), making it as complex as you can stand to deal with. This
doesn't stop MI5/CIA spooks or Google/NOVA nerds from doing whatever,
it just buys a little time before they get in.
