First, the 3.1 wasn't in Yellowstone and I never said it was. Second,
instead of using this NG as a vent for psychological disturbance, I
post an "On topic" bit of information, and the mental midgets of the
group raise up and reply with their limited "Little" vocabulary,
fenced in intelligence, and narrow eyed perspective. What a shame
their mothers didn't want an abortion. Ignorance is as ignorance does.
You fools with limited brain area need some serious help. |

P.S. The magma chamber extends well beyond the park boundaries.

You are a fool to let it bother you.
You only have to look at the Google Groups "Options" on such a
poster's message to get the calibre of the butthole.
Options > Find messages by this author.
His input in all his groups is negative. The best you can hope for on
here though, is neutral. The number of useful posts is lamentably low.
Still I suppose it stops them throwing stones at the passing traffic.
By the way, for quakes on or near volcanoes, the magnitude is usually
pretty low but there tends to be many more of them than "normal". |

You shouldn't talk. Your Google "rating" is lower than his.
Like this means anything. Google Groups is a front end for
usenet. So-called ratings are meaningless on usenet.

So why don't you enlighten us on why a 3.1 quake in that
region is so important that you felt the need to come
here and post a doom-n-gloom. |

Usenet laughs at that upstart Google. GUI interface indeed!
I find Google Groups useful for archival purposes. But even that
is in danger.
Apparently they allow users to set messages to auto cancel.
Because most users don't understand what usenet is and that they
are simply accessing a web based interface to it, they don't
realize that the only place those messages will get cancelled
is on Google Groups. Everyone else on usenet will still see them.
There have even been examples in this very group of Google users
cancelling their own messages and rewriting them. They think they
have successfully done this, whereas the rest of the usenet world
sees every single version of their message.
Now they have user profiles and ratings, which are only meaningful
in the context of the Google Groups interface.
I do like their newsgroup and poster statistics, though. That has
been very useful on occassion.
But then, there's the apparent problem with Google Spam. My NSP
heavily filters so I don't see much of it. However, the problem
is apparently so extreme that they have taken to blocking any
message originating from Google that is crossposted to more than
3 newsgroups. Personally, I find that annoying. But hey, I get
the service for 'free'.
I wonder if Google isn't tryign to re-write usenet in their own
image instead of imaging usenet.

OK Sigmund, let me explain. 1) There is no doom 'n gloom. It was a
simple statement. The topographic anomaly (Little bump in the ground)
sparked my attention. I posted that info for the use of the "Above
average" IQ. 2) I admit it was a mistake to use a medium that includes
people with thought processes like yours. 3) Please accept my apology
if I scared you. Geeeeesh...............

Well, Flippy, welcome to sci.geo.earthquakes. You got one sceptical
comment and you're feeling persecuted? I think you want to look for
the alt.warmandhuggy.quakes newsgroup.

Ummm, wasn't is you, Flipper, who made passing references to your
critic's size (mental, perhaps penile?). That, to me, suggests
someone with a psychological disturbance, but it's not your critic.
Also, apparently you don't know that you don't have to start a new
thread to respond to a post. Just find the offending comment, hit
Reply, and like magic, everything stays in a single thread.

I wasn't speaking.
I was writing.
Vis a vis your later post:
As it happens Google holds the posts longer than most other caches.
They can go missing and have even been attributed to other users -
probably due to criminal activity. I noticed several had changed
attribution about the time of one net attack.
You can get any server to drop your messages if you ask politely. Most
other servers don't hold messages past a few weeks, maybe some months,
seldom more than 6 months.
As for Googles' statistics on users; WTF cares about them besides you,
you moron? |

Interesting. Do know of any examples?

Currently, my NSP has messages going back to June 2003 for this
newsgroup.

I don't care. It was you who brought it up.
