That seems to be where NASA is headed with the Space Station. Looks like
it's over in 2015 if NASA gets it's way, as NASA starts talking about it
end before it is finished.

....NASA has begun a nine-month search to find 10 to 15 astronauts to start
training in 2009. But there are now 91 astronauts competing for seats on
the remaining dozen or so scheduled shuttle flights through 2010.

And given that the first mission of the agency's next-generation manned
spacecraft isn't scheduled until 2015...

....Moscow is also keen to keep up and running the International Space
Station (ISS), a joint international project,

despite Washington's plans to pull out at the end of 2015...

Looks like NASA isn't planning to go to the Space Station with Orion.
