"Today, in the remote northeast corner of California, technology innovator
and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen will hit the big red button.
The famous technologist will be inaugurating the initial 42 antennas of his
namesake, the Allen Telescope Array (ATA) – the first major radio telescope
designed from the pedestal up to efficiently chew its way through long
lists of stars in a search for alien signals. Within two decades, it will
increase the number of stellar systems examined for artificial emissions by
a thousand-fold. The ATA will shift SETI into third gear..."

Looking far away isn't the kind of SETI we need right about now,
especially with such clear signs of other intelligence having been
existing/coexisting on Venus.

The SETI Society / by Jason H. is another typical usenet moderated to
death joke, of little if any group activity other than his own. With
perhaps a dozen close friends as group members is why there's no real
honest give or take as to tough SETI related topics within that cult
like group of his, that's also more closed mindset than our resident
LLPOF warlord(GW Bush) and of his Yiddish or Semitic puppeteers that
want nothing less than to provoke WWIII before we run ourselves out of
fossil fuel and/or yellowcake options.
