Lithium Technology's new battery pushes Toyota Prius to 125 MPG
Lithium Technology has rolled out a new line of batteries for use in
all-electric and hybrid-electric vehicles.

Lithium Technology showed of the new technology in a new Prius. The 7 kWh
battery is made up of 63 lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells that push
the Prius from 46 MPG to 125 MPG. BusinessWeek says, "The battery management
system (BMS) is more precise monitoring fewer cells, keeping them in balance
for best performance and preventing damage to the battery due to over
voltage, under voltage, over temperature and short circuit."
