Hello all,

I've been following the research of Dr. Naomi Halas and others at Rice
University with interest. I know they've developed gold nanoshell
technology for use in a number of applications, including medical
diagnostics, however, I'm most interested in the application of
nanoshells to cancer. They are supposed to be conducting clinical
trials this year, but they've gone really quiet. Nanospectra
Biosciences (The company set up to exploit gold nanoshells in a
commercial environment) web site has no updates at all this year
Does anyone know more information about the progress of the clinical
trials? Are they even taking place?

Thanks,

Braun Brelin

There is a US government web site on clinical trials. I think it is
called something like clinicaltrials.gov

That should give you status.

Remember, there is no real info about it until there are results. And
if they are just starting, it is unlikely there would be any
meaningful news for a few years. Phase I rarely says much more than
"it is safe enough to go ahead"
