Had my permanent crown done today - it has taken all day to get used to the
bite (befre I ahd a root canal with a huge filling which IMO was poorly
done by my previous dentist and I totally lost the shape of the original
tooth).
Now this new crown fits into the bottom tooth almost perfect (its the tooth
on the top, left of the 'dracula tooth)
Problem is that the bottom tooth sort of digs in too far into the crown -
so it feels liek the crown is too far down and should be a little higher -
but throughout the day my bite has evened up so looks to be sorting itself
out - though i can still feel it a little - the left side closes first and
this sort of stops the right side going together completley.
My main prblem is that for some reason when I an munching my food the jaw
sometimes goes to the left, this causes the bottom tooth to hit the otuside
of the crown (now on my natural right side this isnt a problem for
somereaosn but if it did happen the inside of the tooth is so smooth it
sort of glides back into place) - however with the crown, I had it grounded
a little to get a better bite so it is rough and sort of scrapes along -
can I get this smooth out?
When I had a temp corwn it was much smaller - this meant that the bite was
perfect and the tooth udnerneath couldn't touch the side of the crowned
tooth - so ideally I'd want the dentist to ground down a fair chunk of the
crown but I think it might be too much...
It is quite hard to explain without seeing so here are soem pictures (they
are reversed because i took them on my camera phone..
here is the crown - it is 2nd left

Now this picture shows what I sort of want - a part of the tooth not to be
there so the tooth udnerneath doesnt hit it on the way up when my mouth is
moving fast when i am eating..
as you can see i want a fair bit of it gone - the temp crown was liek this
and it was eprfect and it looked fine as you cant see that bit when i smile
really anyway. well i suppose I was the inside of that aprt drilled away
becuase if it was the the tooth underneath should just slot in regardless
of what angles its coing up from

basically the problem is that my mouth doesnt move in a straight up and
down motion so when it devaites it causes problems in my bite - the bottom
tooth hitting the outer of inner side of the crown. Also the bite is just
off perect at the moment.
Anyway I suppose my more easier to answer questions are:
1) How easy would it be to remove this crown?
2) If the dentist agreed the crown wasn't perfect and did labour for free
or reduced how much does it normally cost to get a crown made (UK by the
way)
3) WOuld another moudling just end up the same?
4) How much scope is there to drill away at a crown before it starst to
lose its strength?
