How can the theory of evolution be tested? The most obvious way is
to examine the fossil record to see if a gradual change from one kind
to another really happened. Did it? No, as a number of scientists
honestly admit. One, Francis Hitching, writes: "When you look for
links between major groups of animals, they simply aren't there." So
obvious is this lack of evidence in the fossil record that
evolutionists have come up with alternatives to Darwin's theory of
gradual change. The truth is, though, that the sudden appearance of
animal kinds in the fossil record supports special creation much more
than it does evolution.

Moreover, Hitching shows that living creatures are programmed to
reproduce themselves exactly rather than evolve into something else.
He says: "Living cells duplicate themselves with near-total fidelity.
The degree of error is so tiny that no man-made machine can approach
it. There are also built-in constraints. Plants reach a certain size
and refuse to grow any larger. Fruit flies refuse to become anything
but fruit flies under any circumstances yet devised." Mutations
induced by scientists in fruit flies over many decades failed to force
these to evolve into something else.

A thorny question that evolutionists have failed to answer is: What
was the origin of life? How did the first simple form of life-from
which we are all supposed to have descended-come into existence?
Centuries ago, this would not have appeared to be a problem. Most
people then thought that flies could develop from decaying meat and
that a pile of old rags could spontaneously produce mice. But, more
than a hundred years ago, the French chemist Louis Pasteur clearly
demonstrated that life can come only from preexisting life.

So how do evolutionists explain the source of life? According to the
most popular theory, a chance combination of chemicals and energy
sparked a spontaneous generation of life millions of years ago. What
about the principle that Pasteur proved? The World Book Encyclopedia
explains: "Pasteur showed that life cannot arise spontaneously under
the chemical and physical conditions present on the earth today.
Billions of years ago, however, the chemical and physical conditions
on the earth were far different"

You know, I've never seen a woman try to challenge the theory of

evolution. Nor one who thot the moon shot was a hoax, or that that the
Nazi gas chambers were only showers. [even tho there are no fawcets to
adjust the temp or turn them off]

But I have seen the names of some well known women posted as asking
for a new 911 investigation, most especially those who lost loved ones
in the twin towers.

Are there in fact women who try to support Creationism in the
postings? Or debunk the moon shot and the Nazi death camps?

I can see that evolutionarily, that men'd be spread out wider on the
bell curve, and while you'd get more genuises, you'd also get more
nutcases.

god only knows where this quote came from. creationists aren't the
most unbiased or honest of folks...

we have fairly complete transitional series for the evolution of
horses, of whales, etc.

So

whatever 'special creation' is. for 5000 years religions of one type
or another have said 'god did it' explained nature

but the fact is science explained more about nature in 300 years than
religion did in 5000.

really? bacteria don't develop resistance? do tell!!

kind of like being slightly pregnant. 'near total' allows ALOT of
variation...

Quote:

really? ever seen a deformed animal? ever seen variations in the way
animals run, hunt, etc? animals aren't uniform..

religion has an unbroken record of success at being a failure in
explaining nature. but creationists insist that it be given one more
chance...

HI GOD here, I just stuck those fossile in because I wanted to have a bit
of a laugh, I mean hanging around for millions of years gets SOOOO tedious,
and I needed a bit of light amusement, sorry about the confusion

Evolution = change in gene frequencies over time.
Check to see if gene frequencies change over time.

I've seen several women attacking evolutionary theory. At

talk.origins there is a poster named "Zoe," notable for being more
courteous but even denser than the average creationist. Among
political columnists, both Phyllis Schlafly and Ann Coulter have
written anti-evolutionist columns; the last Coulter's most recent (to
date) book _Godless_ is a sustained attack on evolutionary theory (the
Panda's Thumb website did a couple of articles in rebuttal, although a
complete rebuttal would take an entire book and, since Coulter offers
nothing except confused rehashes of points made by Behe, Dembski,
Johnson and Wells, is also pointless). Nancy Pearcy, an associate of
Charles Colson, a member of the Discovery Institute, and a former
student of Francis Schaeffer, has written a number of anti-evolution
reviews, articles, and book chapters. There are numerous other
examples if you search the web for them. I don't know about female
moon-landing deniers or holocaust deniers, although I'd suppose that
at least some examples of the latter exist.

I don't know any examples of the latter two sorts of women. In

newsgroups, it seems to me that it's hard to find a creationist who
sticks around very long (but some people on alt.talk.creationism may
remember "Lani Girl," an especially belligerent creationist, not
nearly so charming as Zoe Althrop).
