Is there a reference for the finding that 81 mg/d of aspirin raises blood

Hey you guys, take it easy, this is Dr. Chung we're talking about
here,
show
some fucking respect! Actaully, he probably would have made a decent
doctor
during the middle ages (when a doctor was just as likely to be the
town
butcher.)

Or the barber, who usually sidelined in bloodletting, leaching, and
family dentistry.

Another thing to consider, Chung has his imaginary patients
follow his 2 pound per day diet, but Chung himself is carrying about
10
tons
worth of iridium around in his head, so he's an extremely dense
individual.
Trying to get through to Chung is akin to shooting an airgun at a tank
or
attempting to knock a power grid out by cutting a loud fart.

Difference between Dr. Meng^H^H^H Chung and a medieval barber is,
no medieval barber in his right mind would prescribe acetone as a
food supplement.

Doubtless, but would really made me realize Chung was completely spun was
the fact that he stated that people who are starving are not actually
hungry, huh?

"Stalingrad" by Antony Beevor is a book about the German invasion of
Stalingrad (Russia) that took place in August of 1942 and the subsequent
encirclement and destruction of Field Marshall Paulus's Sixth Army
(nearly
300,000 men including the Russians who were captured and dragooned into
fighting or working for the Germany Army.) After the failed attempt on
Moscow, Hitler set his eyes on the Caucascus, the oil fields of southern
Russia. This eventually lead to a city called Stalingrad (on the Volga
River) where the most bloody and merciless battle in the history of the
world would take place. It started out with General Richthofen's relay
boming of the city in early August, killing close to 40,000 civilians and
totally destroying the city. This was simply the beginning, by the end
of
the battle, over one million men, women and children would die in just
six
months. Nearly twice the amount lost in the entire Civil War and twice
the
amount of American deaths throughout the entire WW2 campaign (in both
theatres.) All in one 6 month battle. The amount of deaths was largly
due
to Hitler's refusal to allow and breakouts of withdrawals and Stalin's
same
attitude, not to mention the Soviet style of attack which in the
beginning
of the battle, was nothing short of suicidal. Just wait, I am going
somewhere with this!

In the latter chapters, much attention is given to the effects of
starvation
on an individual and one of the biggest side effects of starvation tends
to
be hunger! Even in their death throes, German soliders could think of
nothing but food. Often times, men who were starving to death (and near
death) were suddenly brought large amounts of fatty food (sometimes air
supplies would slip through massive amounts of flak) and warned to eat it
very slowly, many did not and died as a result. Even men with diseases
such
as Typhus and Typhoid were preoccupied with food. In fact, most German
soliders and officers were much more concerned about the decreased
rations
than the fact that they were encircled and doomed to die by either a
Soviet
bullet, shell, a death camp (if captured) or disease from the massive
infestations of lice. When it became apparent, after rations had been
reduced to about 250 calories a day, that there would be no one to rescue
them and that General Hoth's attempt to relieve them had failed, they
were
still hungry.

Didn't the citizens -- a LOT of them -- resort to eating pets -- and
cannibalism --
in the face of starving to death?

They ate damn near everything in site, mostly horses (the German Army relied
on 600,000 horses when they invaded Russia.) After a while, without fodder,
horse meat became a delicacy and then, they ate dogs, cats, rats and any
grass that could be found (although it was difficult to find under 2 feet of
snow.) Most of the horses were gone by the end of December. Rotten corn
laying frozen on the ground was the last to go.

The only reports of cannibilism were in POW camps where 4,000 Soviet POW's
were held, if the Germans were starving, you can imagine what these poor
bastards had to eat, each other. Even the ruthless Feldgendarmerie couldn't
keep the POW's from eating each other....If Chung had been there, I'm sure
he could have convinced them that it's ok to be hungry.

The rations were sufficient through mid-November but Operation Uranus
(launched by the Red Army) encircled the entire Sixth Army in Stalingrad and
when the weather got bad, pilots were unable to keep food, fuel and fodder
flowing in. Several hundred tons of food per day were needed to keep the
Sixth Army alive, the Luftwaffe never came close to that because they didn't
have enough planes, pilots or fuel to drop the supplies, not to mention the
fact that the Russians were bombing the shit out of their airstrips and
delivering a shitload of flak to any plane that dared enter the kessel. The
weather was another factor, the Russian winter was especially cruel that
year and often times, pilots had to light fires under their planes to start
the engines because it was so cold. Visibility was usually horrible; a lot
of supplies that were dropped for German troops ended up in Russian hands.
While all this was taking place, Hermann Goering (the fat Reichsmarschall)
was vacationing in France and could not be reached, of course, he was
ultimately responsible for the Luftwaffe.

As for the Russian POW's, only about 2 percent survived until liberation.
90,000 German prisoners were marched off to the POW camps, enlisted men and
junior officers had little chance of survival, only about 1 in 10 made it
back to Germany. They were treated only slightly better than Russian POW's
but they were not put into gas chambers or systematically murdered, like
Russian POW's further west or Jews, they were simply not taken care of and
worked to death. Senior Officers of the German Army were treated far
better, they had luxurious condtions compared to the men under their
command. A lot depended on rank, most Generals and Colonels were well taken
care of and although they spent years in captivity, many were returned to
Germany in the late 40's and into the early 50's.

The Romanians (who were foolish enough to side with the Germans) were simply
cannon fodder and most were killed during Operation Uranus. They were the
weakest link and therefore targeted first. Their officers ran like deer
when the sound tanks and artillery could be heard in the distance, they left
their NCO's and soliders to fend for themselves, although most fought
bravely, they were outmatched, outnumbered and outgunned. Most Italian
units suffered the same fate during the final January offensive that
finished off the Sixth Army and their allies for good. Surrender came
shortly after.

It was the ultimate smack in the arse for the German Army, who was just
begging to be made an example of. In reality, it was the Soviet Union who
bled the Germans to death. However, one should also keep in mind that
without American food, jeeps, clothes and other items sent to Russia, they
would have never been able to wage war. We sent them millions of tons of
food, it's unfortunate that Chung wasn't around in those days, he could have
convinced the American governmant that men can survive without food.

He probably would have been better off under General Patton (who slapped a
shell-shocked solider right back into the ranks.)

Stalin had special units under the direct charge of the NKVD who's main
responsibility was dying quickly, in other words, they were sent into battle
without training (and sometimes without weapons) or to clear mine fields
without any experience or tools. Those who earned this *special* privilege
were deserters, prisoners from gulags or soldiers from areas of Russia who
were known to be against the Bolshevik Regime.

Truth be told, Chung wouldn't have lasted five minutes in anyone's army, not
even the French.

Doubly unfortunate, since Ike or Monty (or Stalin) would have found
him plenty
of work peeling potatoes or shoveling shit.

He probably would have been better off under General Patton (who slapped a
shell-shocked solider right back into the ranks.)

Not much patience for slackers. As he once told my father, "GET THE

Truth be told, Chung wouldn't have lasted five minutes in anyone's army, not
even the French.

I'd say maybe the Swiss Army, but his talents would be wasted.
Better
he be shipped off and volunteered for Dear Leader's infantry. Dope
him up
with some long-acting barbiturate. Pack him in a box and FedEx him
via China.

Yeah, docs aren't real big on barbiturates anymore, me thinks. Ludes were
around a lot (Methaqualone...not sure of the spelling) back in the 70's
until doctors realized how much fun they were, Ludes were taken off the
market in 83, not sure if they still prescribe other forms of barbs, could
be??

Chung's services would probably be greatly appreciated in North Korea, where
they have a massive shortage of doctors and medical supplies although they
might want to get ahold of the iridium and attempt to make some sort of
weapon out of it.

Yeah, docs aren't real big on barbiturates anymore, me thinks.

Phenobarb is still used to treat severe epilepsy which doesn't
respond to other meds, since even barbiturates are preferable to
opening someone's skull and dicing up what might be useful
bits of gray matter. Maybe my neuro could fake a script,
possibly for the *big* jar of 1,000 pills.

Dear
Leader buying aluminum tubes to build cascades for iridium enrichment.

Bush and Chung have a lot in common in terms of density.
