Late 70s.. Massive snow fall in Pittsburgh PA (jan 1977?) am

I was barely old enough to recall this event, but I seem to recall a
major single snow storm in the late 70s in the Pittsburgh PA region.

The closest thing I can find on this is a monthly snow chart for these
years.. I noticed one chart showed 42 inches of snow Jan of 77.. Is
this correct, did we receive this much at one time (what was the year/
storm/amount if it wasnt jan of 77)?

Anyone out there know where I could find specific day to day snow
totals based on months/years as far back as say 76?

According to the following, the maximum monthly snowfall for
Pittsburgh was 40.2 inches in Jan 1978:

Sorry, for that last link, click on "City Selection Page" and
choose Pittsburgh from the "Big 7 National Weather Sites" list.
Then select "Climatic Data" to see the table of monthly records.

Thanks.. that was pretty useful.. It was probably that jan 1978 that i
recall then.. total of 40 inches on the ground by months end.. with a
max 24 hour of about 14" that year.
