Hello,

I am curious about my food. After some research concerning turkey,
science discoverd tryptophan was making people feel drowsy. I lived
near a beef processing plant at one time, and I know that the animals
are kept from eating for 3 days, and shipped. I also know, that when I
eat a steak, I feel drowsy or tired. Then my mind wondered over to
muscle building steroids, and why do I feel tired after eating a steak?
Maybe, the chemistry of being tired for that mammal, is so similar as
the muscle building hormons as to have actually taken a tired
slaughtered animal and made me tired. If it were worse, I might find
myself feeling hungry, right after I eat, and ya' know something, I do.
So, could the chemistry of a tired hungry cow, be contributing to the
overwhelming plague of obeisity?

Ranchers do all of this work of keeping the cattle from eating to empty
out their digestive tracts in order to keep ecoli out of the mix, once
they've been slaughtered. The lack of sleep is all a part of the
procedure and speed of the process. In part that goes with hearding
the animal into a coral, shipping the animal, and wait involved with
finally processing it. How can we change this, to change the chemistry
of people who love beef, and don't like feeling tired and hungry unless
they are absolutely stuffed?

Help prevent the pandemic of obesity, slaughter a happy cow today.

When you eat beef, the amino acids you take in are almost completely
derived from digesting muscle proteins that were synthesized quite a
while previously. There might be very small amounts of specific
chemicals present that are affected by the animals very recent
physiology (and mood), I really doubt that the tryptophan level is
changing that much.
