The December issue of Review of Ophthalmology contained an interesting
news piece about how researchers at the Univ. of Wisconsin, in
evaluating the Beaver Dam Study, discovered that moderate excersize
slowed down the onset of age-related macular degeneration.

I have reprinted the article (with permission of the magazine) on my

PS I have also received permission to reprint an excellent review
article on the current status of the two leading drugs for stopping AMD
-- Lucentis and Avastin. The article is written by Dr. Philip Rosenfeld
of Bascom Palmer in Miami, the leading researcher in the use of
off-label Avastin for treating this disease.
