Hello madiba,
welcome back.
Aren't you going to tell us about SA?
Whats there to tell?
I thought you'd have something to say about this.(or cancer care in
general)
You posted....
"I'll be there in November to check it out, if all goes well.
Apparently they've developed a protocol thats been modified to the rural
african situation with a single shot partial breast irradiation of 21Gy,
no follow up.."
That meeting didnt happen. Speaking to oncologists in the area I found
out that its called the Mammosphere and basically seems to be a reusable
Mammosite system. There seems to be no properly organised trial so they
are not referring cases. I wonder if it was my contacts to a Mammosite
in Itay that might have made the prof nervous as my (local) call was not
returned..
5.5 million HIV+ people are slowly but surely bringing their already
weaked (thru corrupt affirmative management) public health sector to a
grinding halt.
- So I accepted a job there in the private health sector.. :-/
Hope to start by February.
Congratulations. Does that mean you won't be able to access this
newsgroup?
If you recall, the fellow from SA can't access here but can access an alt
newsgroup.
I just remembered, I should have told him to contact his ISP.
ADSL is taking off there, without broadband it would have been a hard
sell..
By the way, Alan, on breast cancer newsgroup, is looking for "geek"
opinion about his wife's CT scan result.
I was thinking he maybe hopes to hear from you, (but maybe doesn't
want to
hear).

I think he's coping and is very well-informed.
That's good. At last check, nobody had replied on-group.
Sorry to hear about the malaria.
