Hello,
The symbolic manipulation system that I built is not creative in
finding faster ways to solve problems. The symbolic manipulation
system is more than blind, deaf, zero chemorecepters, no feelings, and
unemotional. How can I manipulate the CAS to overcome the Chinese room
just like Helen Keller did? We learn from our senses. We cannot learn
mathematics without senses. Does a machine have to overcome a Chinese
room in order to achieve at mathematics? Do machines think? Yes,
because thinking is about brute force. Humans use brute force too, but
humans apply cut-offs that prunes the trials dramatically. I know that
mathematics is not only symbolism, but it is about aesthetics,
creativity, understanding, pattern recognition, and fuzzy logic. Yes,
I understand that symbolic manipulation is not the only way to go, it
needs other stuff such as understanding, fuzzy logic, and pattern
recognition. How do I make the CAS understand, recognize patterns, and
have fuzzy logic. Do neural networks work?
Thanks |

This is more of an AI and not a CAS problem.
So you are better off checking an AI newsgroup for that.
Once AI provides methods to create creativity in a usable sense, then
CAS development might start worrying about incorporating that, but we
are not there yet. |
