Hi all,
I want to segment an echocardiac image in matlab. Can anyone pls tell
me what are the steps I should follow.

Step 1: Search the literature or internet for similar work.
Step 2: Take some training courses on how to do image analysis.
Step 3: Try to use those algorithms, perhaps adapting for your specific
images.
Step 4: If you're still stuck, post your images out on a web site so
people can see them.
Step 5: Ask for help. Construct a message that actually has enough
detail for someone to help you. One that is not so vague as to be
useless. Include links to your image and prior things you have tried.
Step 6: Post your call for help on sci.image.processing.
Step 7: Try out the suggestions if they seem helpful.
Step 8: Publish your results, if appropriate.
Step 9: Reap fame and glory.
