Hi,
I've been trying to understand the difference between image pyramids
(applying the same filter on sub-sampled versions of the image) vs.
filterbank (use different size filters on the same image). I'm trying
to understand the mathematical/efficiency difference between the two.
When only low pass filtering is involved, I think they are equivalent,
but does the same hold true for bandpass filters such as gabors?
Anybody has a thought? |
