Hello,

I am trying to get an overview of techniques which deal with
motion detection / motion tracking from videos.

Particulary, which are the state-of-the-art algorithms?
Any suggestions how to find the most important papers out there?
Is there a kind of Bible you would recommend ,e.g. a book which lists the
most important
techniques?

Thx in advance

To stay up to date with the latest improvements in algorithms, I'd
follow the SPIE and IEEE conferences.
http://iris.usc.edu/Information/Iris-Conferences.html
http://spie.org/app/conferences/index.cfm
http://www.ieee.org/web/conferences/home/index.html
Many of the "most important papers" will be presented at these
symposia.

Hi Alex:

The following survey will be relevant for your work:
Thomas B. Moeslund, Adrian Hilton, Volker Krüger. A survey of advances
in vision-based human motion capture and analysis. Computer Vision and
Image Understanding 104 (2006) 90-126. (Elsevier)

Thx man!
But I am currently working in the domain of tracking and motion detection in
traffic environments.
Maybe you know the newest survey on this topic?
The newest i found was published in 2004: "Survey Visual Surveillance Object
Motion and Behaviours".

Greetings
