I've tried using www.POIEdit.com to create OV2 files for my TomTom GO 910,
however, no matter what format I use for the West coordinate (negative or
positive) the location ends up in China ( not the USA).
Here is a sample of a CSV file I'm using:
longitude,latitude,POI Name
-115.746,37.64668,Rachel
Any assistance would be appreciated. |

Where is this location meant to be? -115 Long _37 Lat sounds like China
to me too, so the problem is not POIEdit or your conversion but your data.
Could you give the name of a USA city near to the point of your POI and
then maybe we can solve what's going wrong.
BTW here are some stores in Key West FL for you to play with:
-81.79604, 24.56182, "Ace"
-81.77178, 24.56648, "Home Depot"
-81.76967, 24.56770, "K Mart"
-81.76638, 24.56937, "Sears"
Here are a couple of points in Dayton Ohio:
-84.25418, 39.81980, "Hara Arena"
-84.22142, 39.89818, "Dayton Airport"

Those coordinates are in Nevada, not China.
Try using letters such as: W115.746,N37.64668

I don't know this programme, but it is obviously interpreting -115 as being
115 degrees *east* instead of west.
Does it get it right if you use +115 instead?
If not, it may be expecting longitude on a scale of 0-360 rather than +/-180
and may be disregarding your minus sign. If that is the case, it should work
if you add 360 to negative numbers - such that -115 would become +245
Is there any documentation with the program which specifies the exact format
for long/lat data?

Yes, you're right - it's the +- difference between Longitude West vs. East
as Roger pointed out. It seems that POIEdit gets it wrong and interprets
-ve as East while WinOV2 gets it right and interprets -ve as West.

I contacted www.POIEDitor.com and it turns out that it is a bug in their
system (which they have since corrected).

I make many conversions online, and among them, everything
from my Garmin files to TomTom files.
Here it is:
